Rev. Robin Simpson Litton

Pastor Robin was born in Baltimore and lived there until her family moved to Glen Burnie when she was six years old.  She is a graduate of Andover High School (Linthicum, Maryland) and Towson State University with a degree in counseling psychology.  She was a reporter with the Maryland Gazette Newspapers through high school and college until 1986.

After the birth of her sons, Pastor Robin attended Loyola College and received her teaching certificate in early childhood education.  She did graduate work at both Loyola College and Shippensburg University and received her certification as a Reading Recovery teacher.  She taught reading for more than 10 years throughout the Anne Arundel County school district.

In 2002, Pastor Robin entered the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.  She was chosen as a Horizon Intern her third year and served at Luther Place Memorial Church and N Street Village in Washington, DC.  In her senior year, she was named the Lutheran Scholar in Residence and lived at the Washington Theological Union while completing her studies.  During that same period she was hired by

Luther Place
as their part time evangelism coordinator.

Pastor Robin graduated with honors from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg in 2006 with a concentration in Theology and Public Life and was assigned to the Metropolitan, DC Synod.  She was called to

Luther Place
as the Associate Pastor in 2006 where she is currently serving.  Her focus ministry has been evangelism and building the youth and education programs.

In the two and a half years as pastor, she has supervised students from the Project Connect program, seminary intern program at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Chicago, the Lutheran College-Washington semester program and Howard Divinity School.

Pastor Robin has two sons.  Jacob, 23, is a second-year seminarian at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia seeking a Master of Divinity degree.  He is concentrating on ministry to youth and young adults, particularly youth in the margins.  Justin, 22, is an emergency medical technician and communication specialist in Baltimore.  He is currently working on a certification from Washington Hospital Center.

Pastor Robin was recently married to Christopher Litton of Hagerstown, Maryland.  He is a second-year seminary student at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree to be a parish pastor.

Both Pastor Robin and Chris enjoy grilling, taking walks together and attending Orioles games.  We are looking forward to adopting a dog from the humane society.

Pastor Robin is excited and humbled with the possibility of being called as the pastor of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.  She prays that God may bless our ministry together so that all people may know of Christ's love and mercy.  She looks forward to working alongside all members of Holy Spirit, from the youngest of saints along through to those who have worked tirelessly over the years in this congregation.   She asks God that we may be a people that grow together in our knowledge and spirit as we strive to be faithful to our calling as people of God.
